VILLA HEERLE
A young family with two children live in this villa. The living room is used for several functions: A workplace where the mother works from home and children do their homework, a chill area for the kids, a TV corner and a dining area. The space called for an update. There was a lot of activity in furniture and functions, including two work desks in the middle of the room. This did the interior short. In order to bring functionality and warmth back to a harmonious whole, I applied a number of architectural interventions. The old robust fireplace is torn down and replaced by a six-meter long seat, with a sleek fireplace wall in the middle. The architectural form of the room is emphasized by designing a cabinet that follows the wall in length and height. This not only makes the interior look bigger and quieter, it also includes smarter use: The cabinet offers storage space, with two built-in desks with light source: Practical when in active use and neatly tidy when the working day is over. The result is a tasteful villa in which living & working merge harmoniously together in one space.

"After 15 years, our living room was due for renewal. It was an uninviting and messy room. Nothing matched. Since we are not creative ourselves, we decided to hire an interior architect to provide us with a new living and working room. Vanessa had carried out a wonderful project in my employer's apartment complex, who brought us together. There was an immediate click at the first meeting. Vanessa took in our living room and wishes very enthusiastically. After a few weeks she came back to us, with cool materials, layout and 3D impressions for our future room. It looked great. Full of enthusiasm, we started the preparations for a small renovation. Vanessa also took her part in it. She managed all parties in terms of planning and execution at the floor and window specialist, home furnishings store and interior builder. The end result looks beautiful: Finally a warm, tidy, cozy room. A room I wanted for years, but had no idea how to get it that way. It has really become a unit, everything fits together exactly. We are super happy with it!"
