PROJECT | HAIR SALON | LOBBY, RECEPTION AND 8 SALONS
CHALLENGE
Across the entire hair salon, we needed to emphasize warmth and privacy. The majority of clients come in for a hairpiece because of hair loss. Often, as a result of chemotherapy. My goal is to create an environment where the customer feels safe.
CONCEPT
To create that privacy, I designed an intimate vibe. In this wooded area, it felt right to extend the exterior inwards. A place where you feel the natural warmth of wood, flower designs, and marble elements. Based on their golden logo, the interior got an elegant touch of gold.
SPECIAL ELEMENTS
This assignment unexpectedly crossed my path, because I was battling breast cancer myself. It meant I could fully empathize with their clients, feeling damaged and vulnerable in an insecure situation. This project holds a special place in my heart and has even more of my love infused. It felt good to (indirectly) contribute and hopefully mean something to people going through the same.
